The north of Italy boarders the Alps and Dolomites mountain ranges where there are plenty of ski resorts to keep you entertained. From Glacier resorts to tree lined chick resorts, there is something for every type of skiier. Italy hosted the Winter Olympics in 2006, so there are some pretty decent resorts. There are quite a lot of ski resorts in Italy, here is a list of a few of them: - Passo del Tonale
- Cervinia
- Courmayeur
- La Thuile
- Sauze d'Oulx
- Selva
Many of the resorts are linked to each other, creating massive ski ranges. The season normally begins 2nd week of December to April, with the snow normally reaching its peak in March. Summer skiing can also be had in Glacier resorts.
