 Spain

Not many people know that the sunny european country of Spain also has a good record for snow, and is quite a mountainous country. The boarder between Spain and France lays the Pyrenees mountain range where on the Spanish side are quite a few skiing resorts the most famous and largest being Formigal. Spain also has a good record for sun, so if you are after the sun or snow or both, Spain is the place to be. A Little known gem in spain is the resort of Sierra Nevada, however unlike any other resort in spain it lies in the Sierra Nevada national park which is in the Mediterranean sunny seaside town of Malaga. This puts it in a unique postion of being the only place where its possible to ski in the mountain and with in a few minutes car ride be able to bath in the Mediterranean sea. Sierra Nevada is also the highest peak in Spain.

The season normally begins 2nd week of December to April, with the snow normally reaching its peak in March.
