Finland is not that well known for skiing. Being based in the north of europe, with the north of the country being inside the Arctic Circle, gives it a pretty good snow record. Most of the ski resorts are based around the Arctic circle or LapLand area of the country. Finland has a population of about 5.3million people with most living in the south of the country around the capital of Helsinki. The resorts in Finland include: - Iso-Syote
- Yllas
- Levi
- Salla
- Pyha
- Ruka
Most of the resorts could probably be skiied in a few days. Don't let that put you off though as there are plenty of snow adventures to have, including: Snowmobiling, Reindeer Riding, Cross Country skiing, Snow shoeing, Seeing the Northern Lights and seeing Santa. Making it a perfect place for families and snow adventureurs. The season normally begins 2nd week of December to May, with the snow normally reaching its peak in March.
